Now What?

Okay, so we worked really hard, weeded out errors from our website, and launched our new business, Reflections! Yipeee!

Now what?

Each of us can come to a point where we ask that question of ourselves. After a big idea, a big project, a business launch, a personal discovery, a new relationship, we can feel a little let down, wondering, “now what?”

One of the great beauties of the Enneagram is that it just doesn’t quit. Many people have described it like peeling back an onion; everything you learn leads you to something more. Learning your Enneagram type is just the beginning, the springboard for personal and relational transformation.

When Tricia learned about being a Type One, she started to see all of the behavior patterns that could be stumbling blocks for her and it was like a foggy window was wiped clean. She could begin to spot why and how people might perceive her as overly rigid and picky. That awareness allowed her to catch herself and sometimes make different choices, which helped with her relationship with her husband and her children. Even though she desperately wanted to do the “right thing” for herself and also for EVERYONE else, as Type Ones do, she could see that those she loved needed to have the respect and independence to make their own decisions.

As a Type Three, when Barbara started learning about her patterns, she could see how the drive to constantly be working on a new goal or achievement was motivated by a need to feel valuable to others. Later, she learned that her ability to adapt and adjust in different situations could be perceived as shapeshifting and inauthentic. The journey for her, and for many Type Threes, is to know that she is valued and loved as a person – the whole person – not just the pieces she chooses to show. And whew, it’s always a work in progress, but it is nice to step off that hamster wheel (or at least slow it down a bit).

If you’ve learned your Enneagram type and are wondering, “now what?” we would love to accompany you as you unpeel a few more layers of that onion. If you are in a transition point in life and are wondering what lies ahead and how on earth you are going to make it through this next phase, we can explore that together. And if you are just feeling curious, let’s chat and see where it leads.

“Now What’s” can feel scary, but they are also sometimes the most exciting points in our lives!
